Description
For Sale is this Extremely Rare old inter-calatrava case made in 1940 in Exceptional Condition. It is extreme;y rare to find this watch in such a great condition While maintaining the simple and sturdy impression of the interior, the classic design gives it a 1940s look. The dial is white. It features Applied indices with a distinctive style. The large small seconds dial is very eye-catching. The one-step lower design and delicate grooves are well-built, and even within the simple design, you can feel IWC's dedication to manufacturing. The case is made of stainless steel, which is a high-quality material for this model year. 35mm Jumbo cases and those with flat bezels are especially in high demand.
Case is in excellent condition. The lugs and bezel stand out, giving it an impressive look. There are a few small scratches, and it is a valuable specimen that shows the proportions of the time. The dial shows signs of aging throughout. The indices show no signs of deterioration. The gold hands retain their color. . Although it is an old machine, we have disassembled it for cleaning and have confirmed that it is working well.
Nowadays, cases where the case and lugs are seamless are called Calatrava cases, but there are various theories that IWC was produced in the 1920s, before PATEK PHILLIPE's Calatrava was produced.
BRAND
The company was founded in 1868 by Florentine Ariosto Jones, a watchmaker from Boston, Massachusetts. Many popular series have been released, including the "Pilot Watch" collection, which is still popular all over the world for its distinctive design. The soft iron inner case to protect the watch from magnetism and IWC's unique double-rotating self-winding mechanism called the "Pellaton style" are very famous.
